Founder of Newtech Dental Laboratories, Hubert Jasinski discovered his passion early by taking apart and rebuilding anything mechanical. With encouragement from his mother, a dental technician in England, he pursued the dental lab profession and began his career in 1977 as an in-house technician.
He soon launched his own lab, which grew from a basement operation into Newtech Dental Laboratories, incorporated in 1981. Over the years, Hubert expanded services, embraced new technology, and built a state-of-the-art facility in Lansdale, Pennsylvania.
Today, Newtech employs more than seventy team members and continues to reflect Hubert’s vision of combining craftsmanship, technology, and collaboration to deliver high-quality restorative solutions.
Director of Clinical Relations / General Manager, specializing in dental implants and implant coordination. With a career beginning in 2000, Tommy has developed a profound expertise in implant technology, earning him a distinguished reputation in the field.
Since obtaining his Certification in Dental Technology in 2009, Tommy has honed his skills specifically in implant dentistry. He's known for his advanced techniques in implant placement, guided surgery, and immediate conversion for full arch fixed provisionals. His approach combines traditional methods with innovative guided surgical conversions, setting new standards in implant procedures.
In addition to his technical mastery, Tommy has a talent for simplifying complex implant processes, making him an invaluable asset to both his team and to the broader dental community. His recent contributions as a lecturer have allowed him to share his deep understanding of implant technology, enhancing the knowledge of dental professionals nationwide.
Manager of the Removable Department, Ernie is a Board-Certified Dental Technician with over four decades of experience. A recognized leader in his field, he brings unmatched knowledge, craftsmanship, and mentorship to colleagues and the wider dental community.
Ernie began his career in the United States Air Force (1976–1981), where he trained as a dental technician and met his wife—also in the field—starting a lifelong partnership of more than 46 years. His dedication to advancing dental technology led him to earn a master’s degree in Dental Reconstruction from Donau University in Vienna (2001–2003) and board certification in complete dentures in 2018.
Throughout his career, Ernie has served as technician, lab owner, manager, consultant, trainer, lecturer, and more. His breadth of experience uniquely qualifies him to lead the Removable Department, combining technical mastery with visionary leadership.
Beyond the lab, Ernie is a devoted husband, proud father of two, and grandfather of three—his passion for family and dentistry alike built on dedication, integrity, and a lasting legacy.
Manager of DCA, the boutique division of Newtech Dental Laboratories. Dusty is a Navy-trained dental technician from 2000–2004, he earned both his CDT and MDT during his service, beginning a career that now spans more than 25 years. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Old Dominion University.
Throughout his career, Dusty has served as a Manager, Master Ceramist, Lecturer, and Technician Trainer, mentoring dozens of technicians and sharing his expertise in dental artistry and technology. He is recognized for his unique blend of scientific knowledge and artistic skill, with a sharp eye for detail and a deep understanding of dental anatomy, morphology, and aesthetics. His lifelong passion for sculpting and painting continues to influence his approach to dental ceramics and patient-centered outcomes.
Beyond his professional achievements, Dusty is a dedicated husband and father of four. He is passionate about serving his community and is committed to advancing the quality of patient care through his leadership at Newtech.
Manager of the Crown and Bridge Department. With over 40 years of experience in the dental laboratory field, Matt Kress brings unmatched expertise, leadership, and dedication to his role as Manager of the Crown and Bridge Department at Newtech Dental Laboratories.
Matt began his career as a delivery driver and worked his way up through nearly every aspect of the lab, gaining hands-on expertise along the way. Today, as department manager, he brings specialized training in laser welding, metal fabrication, and finishing, paired with a deep respect for the craft.
Outside the lab, Matt’s greatest passion is sailing. Married for 28 years, he enjoys spending his free time with his wife on the waters of the Chesapeake Bay, where he finds balance, inspiration, and joy.
Matt’s career is a testament to hard work, perseverance, and a true love for the dental laboratory profession.
Pete Heigl, CDT, is Co-Team Lead of the Ceramic Department at Newtech Dental Laboratories. With more than four decades of experience, Pete is recognized as both an accomplished ceramist and a gifted teacher, known for his craftsmanship, creative vision, and dedication to helping others excel.
Pete began his career in 1980 as an apprentice at a small laboratory in Ocean City, New Jersey, where he developed a strong foundation in ceramics. In 1987, he achieved his CDT designation, and just a few years later, he began sharing his knowledge as a facilitator for PTC. Over the years, he has also pursued specialized training with leading manufacturers of dental materials and supplies, expanding his technical expertise and refining his ability to deliver restorations of the highest esthetic quality.
Since joining Newtech in 2007, Pete has brought a balance of hands-on excellence and thoughtful leadership to the Ceramic Department. He is admired for his ability to guide technicians with clarity and encouragement, while ensuring every case reflects the highest standards of esthetics and technical precision.
Outside of the lab, Pete has been married for 27 years and is a proud father to one daughter. Family is the cornerstone of his life, a value he carries into his work by fostering a culture of responsibility, trust, and support within his team. For Pete, dental technology is not only about creating beautiful restorations—it is about creating an environment where people thrive together.
Jeff Spiegel, CDT, is Co-Team Lead of the Ceramic Department at Newtech Dental Laboratories. A master ceramist with five decades of experience, Jeff is celebrated for his artistry, precision, and esthetic vision—qualities that have established him as a respected figure in the dental technology profession.
Jeff began his career in the 1970s after completing formal training in New Jersey, quickly rising to manage ceramic departments at several respected laboratories in NJ and PA. For 25 years, he owned and operated his own lab, blending craftsmanship with entrepreneurial drive. Along the way, he earned his CDT designation, pursued advanced Oral Design courses, and shared his expertise as a PTC instructor, helping shape the next generation of technicians.
With 50 years at the bench, Jeff embodies both the artistry and discipline of ceramic technology. His leadership at Newtech reflects not only technical mastery but also a dedication to inspiring his colleagues to pursue the highest standards of precision and beauty. Beyond the lab, Jeff is a devoted husband and father of two sons, proud to pass down the same values of hard work and integrity that have defined his career.
Customer Service Team Lead, Bhumi Patel joined Newtech Dental Laboratories in 2022 as a Customer Service Representative and quickly advanced to her current role as Customer Service Team Lead. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Billing, along with certification in Medical Billing and Coding, and is also trained in CPR.
Before entering the dental industry, Bhumi studied medicine and gained valuable experience as a quality controller in manufacturing. This diverse background provided her with a strong foundation in both healthcare and operations, which she now applies to leading her team and supporting clients at Newtech.
Outside of work, Bhumi enjoys spending time with her children and husband, experimenting with new Indian recipes, and continuing to expand her skills. She takes pride in being part of Newtech, where she values the respectful culture and supportive environment that make it a great place to grow.
Mike Rasmussen serves as Clinical Liaison at Newtech Dental Laboratories, where he oversees technical communications across the lab and coordinates scheduling and communications for the Hybrid Department.
Mike entered the dental laboratory industry in 2018 on the recommendation of a friend and quickly earned a reputation for his strong technical knowledge and willingness to tackle challenging cases. Prior to his dental career, he gained over a decade of experience in the restaurant industry and worked as a precision machining and assembly technician—roles that sharpened his problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Since joining Newtech, Mike has held a variety of positions, including Technician—trained directly by the lab’s founder—Customer Service Representative, Technical Communication Specialist, Trainer, and now Clinical Liaison. This diverse background has given him a deep understanding of both the technical and client-facing aspects of the dental laboratory field.
Driven by a commitment to improving patients’ quality of life, Mike focuses on applying innovative techniques to create reliable, long-lasting restorations. Outside of work, he is preparing for his upcoming marriage in 2026 and has a strong record of service, having devoted more than 4,500 volunteer hours across seven mission trips with his church during his youth.
Michele Hollenbach is the Controller at Newtech Dental Laboratories, bringing 40 years of experience in accounting and finance. She prepares the financial statements, provides in-depth financial analytics, and manages the accounting team. In addition, Michele leads payroll, human resources, and other administrative functions that keep the organization running smoothly.
Before joining Newtech Dental Laboratories, Michele held senior finance and leadership roles at DFC Global Corp. (13 years), AmeriGas Propane (13 years), and The Pearl S. Buck Foundation (12 years). She earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Shippensburg University and completed the Accelerated Leadership Development Program (ALDP), which combined seminars, hands-on activities, development planning, and an Action Leadership Project.
Outside of work, Michele enjoys quilting, photography, and traveling. She is passionate about giving back to her community, volunteering with Stray Cat Blues and serving in leadership roles at her church.
Mike Ciaccio is the Director of Operations at Newtech Dental Laboratories, where he oversees the company’s operational strategy and drives the integration of advanced dental technologies and processes into daily production. With a focus on efficiency, scalability, and quality, he ensures that Newtech remains at the forefront of digital dentistry.
Since joining Newtech in 2015, Mike successfully transformed the laboratory’s capabilities through the adoption and implementation of different CAD/CAM technologies such as milling machines, 3D printing, automation, along with digital manufacturing processes and systems. He developed and refined the workflows and people that enabled these innovations to move from research and testing into full-scale production, positioning Newtech as a leader in reliable technology-driven dental solutions.
Mike’s career in dental technology began in 2006, implementing technology solutions for dental practices to go digital. Everything from practice management software, digital x-ray systems, CT scanners, and intraoral scanners. This early foundation in clinical technology gave him a unique perspective that continues to shape his work — bridging innovation with real-world application and advancing the industry through operational excellence.
Shipping and Logistics Team Lead, Melanie Simkanin is a Lansdale local, she joined the company in 2018 as a shipping clerk and quickly advanced to leading the department.
Today, she oversees a team responsible for coordinating drivers, organizing all incoming and outgoing cases, and upholding the highest standards of packaging and care. Known for her organizational skills and drive to succeed, Melanie has implemented recordkeeping systems that ensure timely
processing and accountability across the department.
Before joining Newtech, Melanie spent more than a decade in retail, where she developed her strong work ethic and detail-oriented approach. She is admired by her coworkers for her leadership style—keeping the team informed, motivated, and focused on getting the job done while enjoying the work together.
Outside of Newtech, Melanie is dedicated to her family. She is a proud mother of two and enjoys life with her French bulldog, Turbo. For Melanie, her roots in Lansdale and her devotion to family mirror the supportive, close-knit culture she fosters within her team.
